Overview

The International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries (RRB 2026) takes place in Leuven, Belgium from 1–3 June 2026. The conference brings together delegates from academia, industry, policy, NGOs, and investors to discuss developments in industrial biotechnology, sustainable (green) chemistry, and the use of renewable raw materials for non-food applications and energy supply.

The overall theme is “Innovating Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, reflecting the conference’s focus on forward-looking, sustainability-driven innovation.

RRB includes topics directly relevant to polysaccharides and biobased materials. The conference call for abstracts explicitly includes polysaccharides among its topic areas.

What to expect

RRB 2026 features a full conference programme including plenary lectures, parallel sessions, poster sessions/tours, and an exhibition, with additional moments designed to support collaboration and networking.

How to participate

For registration, abstract submission, programme updates, and venue details, please use the conference website and official RRB pages.

EPNOE is pleased to share RRB 2026 as a key community event; the conference is organised by Ghent University and KU Leuven.
