A natural polymer
A polymer is a class of materials made of a chain of thousands of similar small unit molecules (monomers).
Man is synthetizing polymers like polyethylene or polyamides mainly from oil but nature is also producing polymers, in a much more sophisticated way than the ones produced by Man.
Polysaccharides are the most common polymers on Earth, consisting of single monosaccharides based on glucose. Starch, cellulose and chitin are the best known and the more abundant.
